it is worth it in my opinion.
Steve is a great teacher but I hope he found me to be a
good student. I did downloaded both Hog Pc and Martin
Show Designer 3 months prior to and trained myself with
some limited help . Susan Rose's guideline is a great
source of info.
I have been self teaching for the grand MA as well and
have found
similar approaches. Even with up to 4 hours a night
practice I found that after taking the show training
network coarse that a great deal that I learned on my
own was confirmed and little things that opened up
further knowledge came out of Atlanta.
The show training courses are so worth it to me that I
would like to take the automated lighting tech courses
when they are held in long beach . I have to travel from
nova Scotia for my courses.
the week I was in Atlanta I also took the free maxxyz
coarse held by martin for the Maxxyz on Tour. After
doing the two levels of hog with Steve the days before
my comfort level with programming was good enough that
the mazzyz was a breeze.
paultaylor42@hotmail.com if you would like more
info. to me worth every penny and I am including the
flight and the hotel as well. To me it is a learning
process that is greatly heightened by Steve's great
teaching. Steve has been in the trenches and knows how a
designer's mind is . Knowing Hog and getting great
knowledge of it helps a great deal to program other
consoles even if they are remotely related to each
other.

I will second that Steve is a
great teacher. I went from not knowing anything to being
able to program a small show. Now I am getting more Hog
work. Thanks Steve.

"Steve (Irwin),
Thank you for your recent Wholehog and WYSIWYG workshops
conducted for our training department. You (Steve) and
Michael (Irwin) both proved to be excellent instructors and
the students, many of whom already had some experience with
the equipment, were very happy with your approach and
coverage of the material......
Our Program has a small budget and we really had to work hard to make
these workshops happen, but it was worth it, and much of the
credit goes to your cooperation with us in making it
affordable and flexible. Our people got a good deal from you
and I think all agree that the training was a good value.
Most importantly, a significant
group of our labor pool now is updated in some of the latest
technology in stage lighting, and we feel that we have
contact for the future with a company that can keep us up to
date.
We will definitely keep in contact
for future training and will recommend you highly."

"I
had a great time at the class. Michael gets the big “5”
stars on his prep. He came in guns blazing. I picked up on
a few little things that had been throwing me off for a
while. Let me know when you have the advanced class,
either here or the West Coast somewhere. Thanks, again."

"I loved the seminar. I
just need to get my hands on a HOG II to practice, but the
principles are there. I was helping someone bring up
lights and it felt good to have a skill that added to the
crew. Steve Irwin is a great instructor...... I got more
than I thought I would get for the money I paid......."

"great class; taking the
class made the pc hog make sense.. thanks
for your time and effort during the monsoon at the
airport. hopefully i
can take the info i gained and put it to use after many
years of non board work..i thought it would be a lot more
complex than it really was......."

"My class with Show
training Network went really well. Kelly is a great
instructor, the structure and content of the class was
smooth and solid. She answers questions really well. And
the small system that was set-up so we can see and touch
the gear live was very helpful.
I look forward to the next level Audio, Rigging, and
perhaps Pyro classes in the furture."

"The Hog shows went great
in fact at the end of them my company's national lighting
director from arizona was doing light training in the
area and stopped by and looked at one of my shows and was
really impressed with what I knew and has invited me to do
some shows on the west coast with him in the future so
things are going really great thanks to the training I
received from you guys. Thanks again"
